After the world premiere of BRIAN at SXSW, the evening continued just a few blocks away at Austin Proper Hotel, where a more intimate after party unfolded for cast, creatives, and invited guests.
William H. Macy and Randall Park were among those in attendance, moving through a room that felt less like a traditional post premiere celebration and more like a gathering of people who had all just stepped out of the same experience and weren’t quite ready to let it go yet. There’s always a moment after a premiere where the energy shifts from presentation to reflection, and this felt very much like that moment stretched out over cocktails.

Austin Proper has become one of the hottest spots for these parties during SXSW. Designed by Kelly Wearstler, the space offers a balance of restraint and character that lends itself well to smaller, more focused gatherings. It doesn’t overwhelm the room. It lets it breathe. During the festival, that makes all the difference.
Presented by Act 4 Artists in partnership with Proper, the after party kept its attention on conversation and connection, offering a quieter counterpoint to the larger scale events happening across the city.
