Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor Face a Cosmic Mystery in First Look at ‘The End of Oak Street’
Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled details for The End of Oak Street, an upcoming science fiction mystery from writer and director David Robert Mitchell that promises to blend family drama with a mind bending cosmic premise.
The film follows the Platt family after a mysterious cosmic event tears their quiet suburban neighborhood away from reality and transports Oak Street to an unknown location. Suddenly cut off from the world they know, the family must work together to survive as they navigate a strange and increasingly dangerous environment.

Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor lead the cast as members of the Platt family. They are joined by rising stars Maisy Stella and Christian Convery.
Known for his work on It Follows and Under the Silver Lake, David Robert Mitchell writes and directs the project, which is being produced by J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot banner alongside Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Matt Jackson, Tommy Harper, and Mitchell himself.
While plot details remain largely under wraps, the film’s premise suggests a blend of science fiction, mystery, and survival storytelling centered on family bonds in the face of the unknown.
The End of Oak Street will be released exclusively in theaters and IMAX across North America on August 14, 2026. International audiences will begin seeing the film starting August 12, 2026.
