After more than twenty five years of street racing, globe hopping chaos, and action scenes that treat physics like a polite suggestion, the Fast & Furious franchise is finally nearing the end of the road.
Franchise cornerstone Vin Diesel confirmed that the final chapter will be titled Fast Forever, with a theatrical release date locked for March 17, 2028. Diesel shared the announcement alongside a photo of himself with late co star Paul Walker, framing the moment as a reflection on the bond and legacy that carried the series for more than two decades.
What began in 2001 as a relatively grounded street racing movie has since evolved into one of the most successful action franchises in cinema history, pulling in more than seven billion dollars worldwide and turning Dominic Toretto into a full blown action icon.
Details surrounding Fast Forever remain tightly under wraps, especially after Fast X ended on a massive cliffhanger that left the fate of several key characters unresolved. One confirmed return is director Louis Leterrier, who also helmed Fast X and will guide the franchise through its final lap.
Diesel has previously teased that the finale will bring the story back to Los Angeles, refocus on street racing, and reunite Dom with Brian O’Conner. How that reunion happens remains the biggest unanswered question heading into the end of the saga.
Originally planned as Fast X Part Two, Fast Forever is now positioned as a definitive goodbye when it arrives in 2028.
