Jason Sudeikis is officially stepping back onto the pitch on Apple TV. The first look at season four of Ted Lasso confirms that the fan favorite coach will return to Richmond, this time leading a second division women’s football team in what looks like a bold new chapter for the Emmy winning series.
According to the official logline, the new season centers on risk taking as Ted and his staff learn to leap before they look while building a competitive squad from the ground up. The shift toward women’s soccer signals a fresh creative direction while keeping the heart and humor that made the show a global hit.

Familiar faces are set to return, including Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca, Brett Goldstein as Roy, Juno Temple as Keeley, Jeremy Swift as Higgins, and Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard. Several new cast members are joining the locker room as well, with Tanya Reynolds stepping in as a new assistant coach alongside additions Grant Feely, Faye Marsay, Jude Mack, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern.
Production has already kicked off in Kansas City, Missouri, which happens to be both Ted Lasso’s hometown and Sudeikis’ real life roots. While plot details remain under wraps, early footage hints at a story focused on growth, second chances, and the chaos that comes with starting over in a new league.
The series previously earned back to back Emmy wins for Best Comedy Series during its first two seasons, setting a high bar for its return. Season four of Ted Lasso is currently in production and is expected to premiere in Summer 2026, on Apple TV.
