SXSW has revealed another major round of titles for the 2026 Film and TV Festival, adding 54 new projects to an already stacked schedule that continues to position Austin as one of the most important launchpads in entertainment. The expanded announcement brings the total to 107 feature films along with shorts, television premieres, music documentaries, and immersive XR experiences set to screen March 12 through 18, 2026.
According to SXSW Film and TV leadership, this year’s slate blends bold new voices with major studio premieres, spotlighting storytelling that spans genre cinema, global narratives, documentaries, and boundary pushing experiments in emerging media.

A Packed Lineup of World Premieres and Major Titles
Among the biggest additions is the Headliner thriller Pretty Lethal, starring Uma Thurman alongside a cast of rising talent, while Narrative Spotlight selections include projects like Anima, Chili Finger, Dreamquil, and the dark comedy mystery Kill Me. Festival audiences can also expect high profile debuts such as Ben Wheatley’s Normal and Maude Apatow’s directorial debut Poetic License.
Documentary Spotlight continues to reflect SXSW’s strong nonfiction programming with titles ranging from the authorized Rod Serling portrait Serling to tech focused exploration Your Attention Please. Genre fans will find late night energy in the Midnighter section with the supernatural thriller Hokum, while Festival Favorite selections highlight acclaimed titles like Buddy, Leviticus, and Rock Springs making their Texas premieres.
Music, Global Cinema, and XR Experiences
The 24 Beats Per Second program features music driven films including projects centered on Jack Johnson, Noah Kahan, and Lainey Wilson. International titles in the Global section bring premieres from Brazil and Germany, while the XR Experience program expands immersive storytelling through virtual reality installations and interactive showcases.
Competition winners and Special Awards will be announced on March 18, with Audience Awards revealed on sxsw.com the following week.
